Mason's preschool just finished up a unit on dirt and soil. They got to do a lot of different things, from, growing grass seed, watching beans sprout, having a pretend flower stand and selling flowers, and many other fun activities! The highlight for Mason was the day that they talked about all the big equipment used to maintain the soil! His teachers had asked Darryl to come in and bring a piece of equipment with him! Mason was loving this, as did the rest of his class! The kids asked lots of questions about the tractor and Darryl shared some information about how it works! Mason LOVED having Daddy come into his school!
After Daddy left, we headed back inside to finish up the dirt/soil unit. They had a clear bin full of different kinds of vegetables that they grew, so the kids could see first hand where our vegetables come from! They were growing carrots and onions! It was so cool to see the children's reaction to the veggies, and the way that they examined each vegetable to see how it was growing! So glad those veggies got pitched when they were done, cause I wouldn't want to eat them after all those hands played with them!
So, the unit on dirt/soil was a HUGE success, and now they move on to Spring and Easter units! Can't wait to see what fun stuff they learn! I hear that they are going to hatch chicks from eggs.....how thrilling will that be?!
Until next time,
